#9: Let’s stay friends

“Let’s stay friends,” Jane says to her boyfriend, John.
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to see you so often.”
“Are you splitting up with me?”
“No, I am just slowing things down.”
“I don’t understand you. What do you want?”
“I want to see you sometimes but I don’t want to be your girlfriend.”
“Do you want us to be lovers?”
“Yes, something like that.”
John is thinking. He wants to have a more serious relationship with her. She represents everything he loves in a woman. She is pretty. She is smart. She has big, beautiful, green eyes. And she wears lovely hats. He doesn’t want to lose such a great woman. He hopes he can win her heart back. He wants to see her as often as possible. If it is possible only once in a week or once in a month, he will see her once a week or once a month.
“OK. Let’s be lovers,” he says and kisses his new lover lovingly. She kisses back.
